Check-in was a breeze, which was appreciated. Sometimes it seems to take entirely too long. The staff was personable. The location of the hotel is close to many dining locations and stores. The room AC was the best I've experienced recently!

Nothing we ended up canceling our reservation beacause they didn't have enough cleaning staff so the rooms were not ready and it eas already 7pm . I had called twice before we arrive and the person at the desk led me to believe our romms would be ready by 330. Will never stay at this hotel ever!

I’ve stayed in fancier hotels with amazing amenities,, but never had staff treat me so well than at this Hampton Inn. Ashley at the front desk was more than accommodating. My family and I booked a smaller room on a very busy weekend. We were there after most of the traffic cleared out, and Ashley upgraded us to a suite because she knew we had young kids and they could use more space. The breakfast was fresh and always hot. My kids said they wanted to stay forever because they loved it so much. We were treated like family from the moment we walked in the door. I know we will be back and I won’t even consider looking into any other options.

It is an older Hampton Inn and in the worst shape of any I have been in. The breakfast was good but the room was not good. The bed in the room had 2 metal braces supporting the mattress which stuck out 5 inches beyond the mattress and my husband hurt his leg on one of them Also the door to the bathroom entered on the room side , not off the 6 foot long hall that typically exists as one enters the room. Instead of having the door go off the hall in entered right into the bedroom. It also meant that if the bath door was open one could no access the closet. It was a terrible design. Ive stayed in tons of Hampton Inns and never seen it done this way. The amenities of a normal Hampton Inn were the same, but the size and kind of rooms mean Ill never stay here again as I visit someone at JMU.

The staff tried to be helpful, but we chose this hotel for the outdoor pool which was closed. No water in the pool so there is no excuse for not acknowledging on their website or on third party sites that the pool was not available. The desk clerk did cancel our reservation with no charges which we appreciated.
